Workshop on standardized methodologies for creating food composition data base

Centre of Research Excellence in Nutrition and Metabolism, Institute for Medical Research (IMR),  Capacity Development Network in Nutrition in Central and Eastern Europe (CAPNUTRA), Belgrade, Serbia, 18th-26th October 2018

The key outcome of this training, development and testing workshop will be the establishment of harmonized national food composition datasets for Pakistan, Iran, Iraq and Kuwait being made available online as part of the World Health Organization (WHO) Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR) dataset on the European Food Information Resource (EuroFIR) Food Data Platform. Agenda_EMR

Symposium on sustainable food systems for healthy diets in Central and South Eastern Europe (CSEE), with integrated training on food consumption data collection and strengthening the thematic regional networking, 15-17 October, Belgrade, Serbia

To promote better understanding of food system approach in Central and South Eastern Europe (CSEE) countries region, CAPNUTRA, Capacity Development in Nutrition Network in CSEE (www.capnutra.org ),in close collaboration and with support of FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (FAO http://www.fao.org/europe/en/), organizes and implements a 3-day Symposium on Sustainable Food Systems for Healthy Diets in countries of Central and South Eastern Europe (CSEE) countries, with integrated training on food consumption data collection and strengthening the thematic regional networking.
The symposium will be a good opportunity to promote World Food Day, celebrated annually on 16th October, to commemorate the founding of the FAO in 1945. This year theme is “Change the future of migration. Sustainable Food Systems for Healthy Diets in Europe and Central Asia-A joint FAO/WHO Regional Symposium and initiative in collaboration with UNICEF and WFP , 4-5 December 2017, Budapest, Hungary

The regional symposium “Sustainable Food Systems for Healthy Diets in Europe and Central Asia” will be a joint FAO/WHO regional symposium organized in close collaboration with UNICEF and WFP and it will take place in Budapest on 4-5 December 2017 (Danubius Helia Hotel, Kárpát u. 62-64, 1133).

The regional symposium will provide an excellent platform and opportunity to explore policies and programme options, countries’ good practices and experiences conducive to sustainable food systems that deliver diverse, safe and nutritious food for healthy diets for all.
